Summary of the trip to Finland!<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Thursday the Icelandic students left H\u00f6fn and drove approximately 500km to Keflav\u00edk, where the international airport in Iceland is located.<\/p>\n

Friday<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Icelanders left to Finland at 8:00 Friday morning (11:00 Finnish time), the flight took about 3 hours so they arrived in Finland at 14:00, Finnish time.
\nJari and Aliisa were waiting for them when they arrived. Then everybody took a bus from Helsinki to J\u00e4ms\u00e4, and the first thing the Icelandic students noticed about Finland was the amazing amount of trees everywhere.
\nThe whole group arrived in J\u00e4ms\u00e4 at 17:00, and at that point the Icelandic students had been travelling for over 20 hours and were really tired. After they got to the school Jari showed them the dormitories and they got settled.<\/p>\n

Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Icelandic group woke up at 9:00, had some breakfast and headed out to take a tour of the school and the area around it. For example they visited the greenhouses and tasted some of the lovely tomatoes that the students grow there.
\nAfter a brief tour of the school the whole group went and visited the town of J\u00e4ms\u00e4.
\nThen we finally ended the days activities by going to some forest, where we had some coffee and tea. Then everybody headed home and the whole group went in the sauna in the evening, which was kind of strange for the Icelanders.<\/p>\n

Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Sunday everybody woke up 9:00 and had breakfast of course. While the Finnish students were preparing the upcoming visit to Isoj\u00e4rvi nature park, the Icelanders played ping-pong. When everything was ready everyone headed to the buses and went to Isoj\u00e4rvi.
\nIn Isoj\u00e4rvi a part of the group hiked for about 5 hours while Reija educated them about the wonders of the forest. The other part of the group skipped the hike and prepared the upcoming meal. In the end the two groups met up and everybody had a delicious meal together in the nature.
\nAfter that everybody went home and rested their sore muscles after a long day of hiking.<\/p>\n

Monday<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everybody woke up at 8:00 and finally the Icelandic students met all the Finnish people in the project, since some of them had been at home during the weekend.
\nBecause everyone had finally met, the Finnish people came up with a few introduction games and everyone got to know each other a little bit more. Also the students were split up into the groups that they were going to work in the following two days.
\nAfter short meal everyone got together in the school and both the Finnish and the Icelandic students had a presentation about their schools and their countries.
\nDuring the afternoon the Icelanders went to Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 where they took a small tour and then shopped for a couple of hours.<\/p>\n

Tuesday<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Tuesday everyone got up really early, or at about 7:00 and had some breakfast.
\nThen everybody got into their own groups and started working on their projects. Group 1, or the entrepreneurship group, worked on making and designing handicraft.
\nGroup 2, the food group, started planning and buying what they were going to cook for everyone during Wednesday evening.
\nGroup 3, the multimedia group, started working on posters for the walls of the school and writing down a brief summary of each day.
\nGroup 4, the programme group, started planning what they were going to do for fun during the Wednesday evening.
\nAll the groups worked until about 15:00 in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone woke up at about 8:00 and went to breakfast. Then the students started working with their groups to prepare the following night. Then during the evening everyone got together at some lake where we played football, had a relay-race, went to sauna, swam in the lake and had dinner together.<\/p>\n

Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Thursday everyone woke up at about 7:00 and headed to breakfast.
\nThe day started with the Finnish students telling us about horse entrepreneurship in Finland, and then we went to Pirttj\u00e4rvi Icelandic horse stables and saw some Icelandic horses. Then we went back to school where the students had a presentation about the Finn horse and the Icelandic horse.
\nThen we did some cross country riding in L\u00e4ngelm\u00e4ki Humma-Tupa \u2013 stables until about 16:30<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
